The enchanter Muñatón/Fristón riding a snake and leaving don Quixote's house through the roof (as described by the niece). Remarkable image; good contrast between this illustration, full of fantasy, and the main realistic/picturesque style of the other illustrations in the edition. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light and shadow. |
