One of the party girls helps don Quixote to eat; the other party girl and some muleteers (guests of the inn) observe the scene; notice the remarkable variety of gestures and expressions. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period setting, clothes and details; realistic and picturesque. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light and shadow. |
| Notes | 1 - The original drawing (Chinese ink and gouache white) was finished in 1898 in Sevilla and presented at the Exposition of Fine Arts of Barcelona (1898).
