Don Quixote cutting a piece of pasteboard to prepare a visor for his helmet. The housekeeper sticks out her head to peep what don Quixote is doing. Great interest in representing real Spanish characters and accurate period setting, clothes and furniture; realistic and picturesque. Jiménez Aranda's drawing skill is masterly; remarkable use of light and shadow; don Quixote's expression is worth noting too. |
