| Commentary | In the foreground, don Quixote and other goatherds listening to Antonio's song; the goatherd is also playing the rebeck.
In the background (left), Sancho resting after his meal; very remarkable figure; notice his gesture of satisfaction. Excellent illustration; good combination of realism (notice some of the older goatherds and the setting details) and bucolic scene (Antonio's figure and the younger goatherds). Don Quixote's figure, listening with great attention, is specially remarkable; good gesture and expression. Drawing and etching are masterly. |
