Commentary | Dorotea, washing her feet in a stream, is discovered by the priest, the barber and Cardenio.
This scene will be habitual in future editions. Dorotea could never be confused with a man (as it is said in Cervantes' text); she has been represented in woman clothes and showing her bosom. Bucolic setting; well-detailed nature. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
