Commentary | Accurate composition to Cervantes' text.
Innkeeper's wife and his daughter's figures are idealized, in contrast with Maritornes' caricature image. Sancho complains about his own pain too. Well-detailed drawing and engraving, with good light and shadow effects (produced by Maritornes' candle). |
Notes | First representation of this episode. |
