Commentary | Sancho and his donkey rolling down into a pit.
Accurate to Cervantes' text, with some "edificios muy antiguos entre los que estaba la sima" (55:2). The movement of both figures has been resolved well. The illustration is quite similar to Doré's (Paris: Hachette, 1863). |
