| Commentary | Don Quixote stands still before the cage of a lion ready to fight with it, but the animal remains into the cage although the lion-keeper has opened it.
Well-known scene, but this illustration, including two lions, is quite more accurate than previous ones; "... dos bravos leones enjaulados [...] son hembra y macho, el macho va en esta jaula primera, y la hembra en la de atrás" (17:2). Excellent drawing/etching style. |
