	Commentary	Interesting image of Alonso Quijano, reading chivalric books but still sane and calm, quite far away from the well-known 19th century image of don Quixote totally mad. Ricardo de los Ríos' drawing/etching style is excellent, with a remarkable sketched effect; remarkable and detailed setting too.
	Notes	1 - "Cuesta trabajo, en efecto, identificar el tema de esa estampa. Y a no ser por el cuello alto o gorguera que usa el personaje representado, a nadie se le ocurriría, ni por asomo, que ése es Don Quijote. La primera impresión, y la que perdura en el ánimo del observador, a pesar de todo, es que se halla en presencia de un burgués del último cuarto del siglo XIX, con cierta cara de castellano viejo, de esos que fueron frecuentes en España entre 1890 y 1900 [...] y más que el hidalgo manchego de fines del XVI, este personaje semeja un abogado, un notario o, simplemente, un estudioso, en trance de leer muy apaciblemente" (Givanel 274-275).
