Commentary | Theatrical composition; all the characters have been placed in the foreground to be well recognized. From left to right: don Quixote talking with a soldier on horseback, Sancho with his donkey, soldiers and the first five galley slaves with which don Quixote will talk (among them, the bearded old man). Ginés de Pasamonte has not been included.
The Spanish "tipos" used for the galley slaves are quite remarkable. |
Notes | It has been used a variety of chromolithography known as oleography to imitate an oil painting. |
