Commentary | After having fallen into a pit, Sancho is rescued by some of the Duke's servants; the donkey too.
Also in the scene, don Quixote and a student in reference to a latter comment: "Desta manera habían de salir de sus gobiernos todos los malos gobernadores" (2:55). In the background, a view of the palace. Drawing, shading and engraving are excellent. The figures in the foreground (three servants and Sancho) are especially remarkable; notice their faces and gestures. The perspective of the composition is quite good too. |
