Commentary | Marcela's appearance during Grisóstomo's burial to defend herself from Ambrosio's accusations; notice his gesture pointing Grisóstomo's corpse.
Don Quixote, Sancho, Vivaldo, shepherds and goatherds witness the scene. Well-known scene, but resolved with great beauty; excellent drawing for the four figures in the foreground (Marcela, Grisóstomo's head, the gesture of the shepherd on the right and Ambrosio). Romantic image. |
