Commentary | In the background, don Quixote during a ride on horseback in Barcelona accompanied by don Antonio Moreno and others; they have fixed a parchment on don Quixote's back with his name, so everyone recognizes him.
In the foreground, several figures cheering, observing and surrounding don Quixote; all placed with their backs turned on the viewer; original composition. The variety of figures (woman, children, men..., different "Spanish" types) is very remarkable. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
