Commentary | Doña Rodríguez visits don Quixote at night in his room.
Accurate to Cervantes' text, doña Rodríguez is wearing a pair of spectacle, don Quixote totally wrapped with his blanket and bandaged. Well-known episode, but Houghton's illustration is specially remarkable, with a perfect fine humour sense. Drawing and engraving are excellent; Houghton's characteristic style. |
