| Commentary | When don Quixote leaves the inn "enchanted" into a cage on an ox-cart, the innkeeper's wife, her daughter and Maritornes pretend to weep with grief at his misfortune.
Also in the scene some of the "ghosts" (don Fernando and his companions, don Luis, innkeeper... all disguised) that have enchanted Quixote. Interesting many-figured composition; most of the characters appear in the foreground. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
