	Commentary	Don Quixote encounter some galley slaves and asks them about their offences. Remarkable composition; notice how the figures have been placed from foreground to background. Accurate representation of the galley slaves: first, a 24 years old man; second, one melancholic and sad; third, a man with a venerable white beard; fourth, a donjuanesco guy; and fith, Ginés de Pasamonte. In tha background, some soldiers on horseback. Drawing and engraving are excellent.
	Notes	1 - "En esta aventura de los Galeotes el artista aspira a grabar con fuerza la escena, «tal como debió de ser». Pero, una nueva tendencia asoma aquí [...]. Es el valor esencial que el arabesco del dibujo alcanza en estas láminas. Aun descontando todas las demás cualidades que pueden tener, siempre resultaría que sus líneas «quieren ser bellas en sí mismas», independientemente de lo que expresan. Y ese prurito decorativo es signo evidente de que el reino del Romanticismo toca a su fin. Van a surgir formas de arte nuevas, porque hay nuevas formas de sensibilidad" (Givanel 239-240).
