Commentary | Despite the title caption, the scene represents Alonso Quijano sane (his arms hung on the wall) talking to Sancho (grief-stricken), the priest, the barber, the bachelor Sansón Carrasco, the housekeeper and the niece.
Excellent drawing and engraving; remarkable image of don Quixote, carefully-etched (highlighted in white on a black background), and detailed and realistic setting. |
Notes | 1 - Reproduced by photo-engraving after Edinburgh: William Paterson, 1879-1884.
2 - Printed on India paper. |
