Commentary | Dorotea tells her story to the priest, the barber and Cardenio; one night, don Fernando entered her room begging for her love.
The scene is quite theatrical and has a clear Romantic sense; the gestures of the figures, although theatrical, are good, specially Dorotea's. See how the engraving has highlighted Dorotea's figure; her figure, almost white, appears over a intense black shadow. |
Notes | 1 - Acceptable copy after Tony Johannot's illustration for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37. |
