Commentary | Don Quixote, over Rocinante, covers his nose to indicate the smell of Sancho's "mishap". Marstrand has represented the scene in the most decorous way (Sancho already arranging his clothes), but he has forgotten that it happens at night.
Accurate detail: Rocinate's legs are tied. Sancho's figure is an absolute caricature. |
