Commentary | Don Antonio takes don Quixote out for a scroll; don Quixote in street costume, riding a mule and with his name written on a parchment stitched to his back.
Sancho (the character on the right?) should not appear; "Ordenaron con sus criados que entretuviesen a Sancho de modo que no le dejasen salir de casa" (62:2). It is remarkable the representation of the crowd; notice the variety of gestures and expressions. |
Notes | This headpiece appears in chapter 63:2, but the scene belongs to chapter 62:2. |
