Commentary | At night, from the window of his room, don Quixote listens to the song that Altisidora is singing in the courtyard; also Emerencia.
The illustration is excellent; drawing and engraving have been done with great care and detail; notice the Gothic facade (based on Doré's sketchings done in Spain in 1861-62); the night light and shadow effects are very remarkable too. |
