Commentary | Reference to Luscinda's story as told by Cardenio to the priest and barber; Luscinda asks a man to take a letter for Cardenio.
The setting is absolutely remarkable; Doré uses some of the sketches made in Spain in 1861-61; it could be a street of Toledo, Plasencia... ; notice the Spanish "tipos" drawn from life too. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
