Commentary | Well-known scene and resolved with little novelty.
Don Quixote standing ready to fight with a lion while the animal remains into its cage although the lionkeeper has opened it. In the background, the carter, Sancho and don Diego de Miranda running away. Don Quixote's figure is remarkable; notice his armour, almost black. The lion is quite disproportionate. |
