Commentary | The scene has been resolved with a good composition; Basilio, lying "almost dead", is surrounded by a friend of his, the priest, don Quixote and Quiteria (with her back turned on the viewer and holding Basilio's hand); other figures just sketched in the background.
Scene with a sense of drama in keeping with Romanticism taste. |
Notes | 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37. |
