Commentary | Sancho explains to Sansón Carrasco how Ginés de Pasamonte stole his donkey; while he and don Quixote were sleeping on their mounts in Sierra Morena, Ginés de Pasamonte stole the donkey, leaving Sancho on the packsaddle and four stakes.
The chosen moment -don Quixote and Sancho are still sleeping but the donkey has already been stolen- is specially comical. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
