Commentary Reference to the answer given by don Quixote to the barber after hearing one of the mad tales; don Quixote begins to talk about the deed of Knights-errant; "hallando en ella y en su orilla un pequeño batel sin remos, vela, mástil ni jarcia alguna, con intrépido corazón se arroje en él, entregándose a las implacables olas del mar profundo, que ya le suben al cielo y ya le bajan al abismo" (1:2).
Notes 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
