Commentary | The housekeeper and the niece lay don Quixote in his bed; this bed, with a great canopy, and a crucifix are the only setting of the whole scene.
Don Quixote's figure, scrawny, is specially comical. The niece, knelt and with her back turned on the viewer, is very remarkable. |
