Commentary | Don Quixote begins the defense of his basin as Mambrino's helmet (see his gesture): "Miren vuestras mercedes con qué cara podía decir este escudero que ésta es bacía, y no el yelmo que yo he dicho; y juro por la orden de caballería que profeso que este yelmo fue el mismo que yo le quité, sin haber añadido en él ni quitado cosa alguna" (44:1).
