Orientalist scene in keeping with Romanticism taste; see clothes, setting...
Agi Morato's figure is specially remarkable (detailed face and clothes, well-resolved movement...).
Notes 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
2 - From the whole tale of the captive, this is the best known episode and the most previously illustrated (see Vanderbank's illustration in London: Tonson, 1738).
