Commentary | Zoraida's portrait; the representation alludes to the very moment when she unveiled herself; "y así, se lo quitó, y descubrió un rostro tan hermoso que Dorotea la tuvo por más hermosa que a Luscinda, y Luscinda por más hermosa que a Dorotea" (37:1).
It is remarkable the use of curve lines, which create a very stylized and suggestive figure. |
Notes | 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37. |
