Commentary | Accurate representation of a very precise moment from Camila and Leonela's dialogue; Camila pretends to faint and Leonela begings to cry; "Tomóle en esto a Camila un fuerte desmayo, y, arrojándose encima de una cama que allí estaba, comenzó Leonela a llorar muy amargamente" (34:1).
Theatrical scene, in keeping with Romanticism taste; the gestures and expressions of both figures, although theatrical, are well-drawn and engraved. |
Notes | 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37. |
