Commentary | Two different scenes in the same plate:
In the foreground, don Quixote and Sancho, falling from his donkey, are attacked by the braying mayors squadron members. Lances are multiplied to suggest agitation and a more numerous group. In the background, don Quixote and Sancho running away. Drawing and engraving are poor, but acceptable; strong burin lines. |
