Commentary | The scene includes the figures of don Quixote, the innkeeper's wife and her daughter, Maritornes, and Sancho complaining about his own pain too.
Accurate composition to Cervantes' text. "En esta maldita cama se acostó Don Quixote, y luego la ventera, y su hija le emplastaron de arriba a abajo, alumbrándoles Maritornes" (16:1). Drawing and engraving are clumsy. |
