Commentary | Sancho, represented with dignity, judges the case of a man accused of rape.
In the foreground, the man tries to recover the money that, by order of Sancho, he has given to the woman; according to Cervantes' text, this scene should not be seen by Sancho, but his "throne" has been moved from the inside to the outside. The allegory of Justice appears over Sancho's throne. In the background, Flemish architectures. Drawing and engraving are acceptable. |
