| Commentary | Don Quixote and Sancho leaves the Duke's palace and the servants bid them farewell (among the servants, it appears Altisidora).
The setting is not too much accurate to Cervantes' text; "una mañana se presentó armado en la plaza del castillo" (57:2). Johannot has not represented the courtyard of the castle, but the outside. We have to take into consideration Viardot's translation; "plaza" has been translated as "plate-forme". |
