Commentary Don Quixote, Sancho, the barber, the priest, Cardenio and Micomicona eating by the side of a small spring; bucholic scene.
See how each figure has been drawn/engraved, giving to it more (Micomicona and don Quixote), medium (Sancho, the barber and Cardenio) or less importance (the priest); the variety of their gestures and naturalism are remarkable.
Notes Antoine Alphée Piaud (Saint-Etienne, 19th century - ¿?): Wood engraver and painter. Piaud worked in Paris between 1836 and 1866. Between 1837 and 1852 he exposed in the Salon (Benezit VIII, 291).
