Commentary | Dorotea continues telling her story to the priest, the barber and Cardenio; at dawn, before leaving Dorotea's house, don Fernando assures her of the faith, the sanctity and sincerity of his oaths and gives her a rich ring (this detail is not represented); in the background, Dorotea's maiden is waiting to take don Fernando out of the house.
The scene is quite theatrical and has a clear Romantic sense; the gestures of the figures, although theatrical, are good, specially Dorotea's. |
