| Commentary | In the foreground, Sancho, mounted on Rocinante and holding a broom bunch, leaves for El Toboso.
In the background, don Quixote remains in Sierra Morena performing his love penance (doing some somersaults half naked). Don Quixote's arms hanged on a tree. Well-known scene, but with a remarkable personal drawing style. Notice Cruikshank's caricature style with short and quick etching lines. |
