Commentary | Two different scenes in the same plate:
The first one, in the background: don Quixote attacks a barber, who runs away leaving his mule and his basin. The second one, in the foreground: don Quixote, mounted on Rocinante, fits the barber basin on his head, leaving his helmet on the ground; Sancho observes him. Drawing, shading and engraving are excellent; detailed figures and setting; good gestures and expressions; remarkable style. |
