Commentary | In the foreground, Alonso López fallen with his mule, defeated by don Quixote, who holds his lance against the ecclesiastic.
In the background, other ecclesiastics running away, leaving the coffin behind. Very remarkable and strong light and shadow contrasts. Notice that the ecclesiastics look like real ghosts. Drawing, shading and engraving are excellent; detailed figures and setting; good gestures and expressions; remarkable style. |
