Commentary | Don Quixote and Sancho Panza arrive at don Diego de Miranda's house, where they meet don Diego's wife, doña Cristina, and their son, don Lorenzo.
Simple composition (all the characters in the foreground); good setting (see accurate details: tobosescas tinajas, large pitchers). Drawing and engraving with little quality. Deficient printing/preservation. |
Notes | 1 - Copy with little quality after Le Barbier's illustration (Paris: Didot-Deterville, 1799); also previously copied by Bigant for Paris: Chez Gide, 1806 and Paris: H. Nicolle, 1809.
2 - Placed as frontispiece. |
