Commentary | At the inn stable, don Quixote finds the man that he had met before carrying arms and lances (one of the members of the braying mayors squadron).
The man had promised don Quixote to tell him his story; also Sancho Panza. Drawing and engraving with little quality. Deficient printing/preservation. |
Notes | 1 - Turned copy with little quality after Le Barbier's illustration (Paris: Didot-Deterville, 1799); also previously copied by Bigant for Paris: Chez Gide, 1806 and Paris: H. Nicolle, 1809.
2 - Placed as frontispiece. 3 - Placed in the upper right corner, but it should appear on the left, before "Don Quixote attacking Maese Pedro's theater". |
