Commentary | Don Quixote, sat on his bed, has decided to start his third sally without Sancho, causing Sancho's sadness (see his face).
The housekeeper, frightened by don Quixote's intentions, has made Sansón Carrasco come to convince don Quixote to stay at home, but, by the contrary, Sansón Carrasco will encourage him to go out. Drawing and engraving with little quality. Deficient printing/preservation. |
Notes | 1 - Copy with little quality after Le Barbier's illustration (Paris: Didot-Deterville, 1799); also previously copied by Bigant for Paris: Chez Gide, 1806 and Paris: H. Nicolle, 1809.
2 - Placed as frontispiece. |
