Commentary | Johannot selects details from Cervantes' text with great decorative sense; allusion to the unfinished fight between don Quixote and the Basque; "con las espadas altas, y desnudas, en guisa de descargar dos foribundos sedientes, tales que si en lleno se acertaban, por lo menos se dividirían, y senderían de arriba a bajo y abrirían como una granada" (9:1). |
Notes | 1 - Same initial and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37. |
